Who runs it
FlightCare is published by TheMediaFlow Ltd, a UK company (number 06769171) that runs the CompareFlights network of travel comparison sites. The team that writes and checks the pages is small and does not include a solicitor; nothing here is legal advice, and the pages say so. Company details and contact routes are on the contact page.
Why it exists
Passenger-rights pages tend to come either from airlines, which explain the exceptions, or from claim companies, which explain why you should use them. FlightCare sets out the rules from the regulation and the Civil Aviation Authority's guidance, shows the free route first, and then shows what each company keeps so the choice is yours.
How the pages are written and checked
- Facts come from primary sources only: the regulation as retained in UK law, the Civil Aviation Authority's pages, gov.uk, the airlines' own claim pages and the claim companies' own published price lists. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
- Every page carries the date it was last checked. Amounts, fees, forms and dispute-scheme memberships are re-read at the source when a page is changed and at least when a provider changes its terms; the fact sheet behind the site records the source and the date for each figure.
- Worked examples use real routes with their great-circle distances; the three short claim stories on the home page are illustrative and are labelled as such in the terms.
- Nothing is published that cannot be sourced: no win percentages, no "average payout in N weeks", no counts of cases.
How the site is paid for
The site carries no advertising. It earns a commission when a reader goes through one of its "Check your flight" links to the claim company it works with and that company accepts the claim. The company, the commission and what it changes for you are set out on the how we are paid page. The company's fee to you is the same whether or not you arrive from this site, and every guide tells you that claiming from the airline yourself is free.
Corrections
If a page is wrong or out of date, email [email protected] with the page and the point. Corrections are made on the page itself and the "checked" date is updated; the page is not silently rewritten to look as if it was always right.
